private wine tour to Etyek with a wine spacialzed tour guide
If you come to Budapest just for a couple of days make a trip to Etyek wine region and enjoy an unforgettable day, experience history, culture and taste some of the still undiscovered wines.
During this wine tasting tour you can get acquainted with the history and character of the wine regions of Hungary see the countryside and different vineries.
The climate is a little cooler in Etyek, with a lot of sunshine, which favors the production of white wines.
The region is also famous for making sparkling wines.
Etyek-Buda Wines - Chardonnay is the leading variety, followed by Savignon Blanc, Riesling, Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris) and Olaszrizling (Welsch Riesling), Rhine Riesling - elegant, dry, definitely acidic, light wines with fine fragrance, but you can find you can taste some great Pinot Noir here.
I am wine enthusiast as well and a WSET Diploma holder (Wine and Spirit Education Trust).
During the day you can visit two or three wineries - you will get the chance to discover and taste wines in small and medium size family cellars where you might have the opportunity for wine tasting with the winemaker who will show you the cellar and talk about his/her wine. But we can include a bigger one too. During the day we will also tour the wine growing land.
Depending on how much time you have this tour can be a 4 hour tour but we can easily spend a bit more time in Etyek so the tour can also be 5 or 6 hours long, we can also include a much or dinner in one of the wineries.
Let me know how much time you have!

Our wine tour with Orsolya was definitely a highlight of our visit to Budapest! She and her husband, who was our driver, were very knowledgeable about the Hungarian wine regions and grape varietals. She made appointments at wonderful small family wineries where we tasted incredible wines. She was easy-going, professional, and also found a delightful cafe where we ate lunch al fresco. She is a great ambassador for Hungary and Hungarian wines! Amazing!
