A unique walking tour to discover the Castle district

Visiting the Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion and the famous Matthias Fountain is a must but Buda has more to offer: apart from the view of Pest, the "other side" of the city, the Parliament, the Statue of Liberty and the bridges - including the spectacular Chain Bridge - crossing the River Danube there're numerous hidden gems well worth a visit. I'll take you to these places too so you'll have an experience of real time travel. I'll show you photos of the past, WW2 and earlier so you can have a glimpse into our past and hear stories of how the locals survived the wars hiding in the spectacular cave system that lies unnderneath the Castle District. Get off the beaten track and join me for trip to remember. :)

Option 1 - Visit the History Museum
Option 2 - Visit the DelaMotte - Beer Palace, an 18th century home
Option 3 - Visit the Hospital in the Rock, a WW2 bunker hospital

Please NOTE: Matthias Church is open:
Weekdays 9. 00-17. 00. , Sat. 9. 00-12. 00. , Sun. 13. 00-17. 00.

Have a pleasant walk around the Castle District which is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Budapest. We start with the Palace underneath which lies the medieval castle of Buda. The reconstructed old castle is basically in the basement of the Palace, integrated into the History Museum. (option 1) I'll show you the old Jewish quarter and tell you about the excavation works of this area. We usually have a little coffee break before continuing our walk to the residential area of the Castle district. We'll visit an 18th century home (option 2) then walk on to Matthias Church, followed by the famous Fisherman's Bastion with magnificent views to Pest, the "other side" of the city. And we won't stop here cause there's so much more to see. Join me on this tour if you'd like to see and know more than an average tourist.

Please NOTE: Matthias Church is open for public:
Weekdays 9. 00-17. 00. , Sat. 9. 00-12. 00. , Sun. 13. 00-17. 00

I spent two days with Rita touring Budapest and Danube Bend. She is a great tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and was well prepared to make Budapest the highlight of my trip to Europe. I highly recommend Rita.
