Join me in the abundant waters off Brunei's coast for a day of angling fun, followed by a BBQ of our catch back on land
We are fortunate in Brunei that our strictly enforced policy of protecting our coastal waters from commercial over-fishing allows an exciting opportunity for amateur angling. The warm waters and generally calm seas mean we can easily venture out to around 10km offshore for a relaxed day of both sustainable reef fishing and angling around several shipwrecks (Zone 2).
Fish we are likely to encounter include Red Snapper, King Mackerel, Grouper, Trevally & Garfish, plus numerous reef species as well as Calamari.
Our trip is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced anglers who may be new to fishing in this part of the world, with all equipment and expert tuition provided. Fishing techniques we cover include bottom fishing, live baiting, light jigging and trolling.
To top it off, we then finish our experience with the opportunity to celebrate and eat the fish caught with a hosted onshore BBQ upon our return.
Our fishing trip experience lasts about 8 hrs, starting from 8am:
1. Pick-up from your hotel
2. Travel to jetty in Muara
3. Safety briefing
4. Depart for Zone 2 fishing (max approx. 10km offshore)
5. 4-5 hrs fishing at various locations and using different techniques
6. Return to jetty
7. Afternoon BBQ of our catch
8. Return to hotel after 4pm
