The "Venice of the North" is Burges in Belgium. Explore the place with the feel and look of medieval times which is close to the North Sea.
I'll pick you up from the hotel at 7 AM. It will be 3. 5 hours travel from Paris to Burges but we'll take breaks to grab some coffee and croissants. While we drive, I'll give you an introduction to the history of Burges.
The tour starts at the center of town and you'll walk through the Market Square. HAve a glimpse of the 83-meter high Belfry Tower which is a symbol of Burge's independence for centuries.
Pass through the statues of the heroes of the "Battle of the Golden Spurs", Jan Breydel and Peter de Coninck. Be impressed with the Provincial Courthouse with the gothic Town Hall. You'll see the former Court of Justice with the statues of Moses and Aaron. Visit the Chapel of the Holy Blood before lunch.
After lunch from a nice local restaurant, we'll proceed with a boat cruise for about 45 minutes. Be enchanted with the Canals of Burges.
