The Story of New York's Transition from a Colonial Town to the Modern Metropolis

From a city of 30, 000 people at the time of the Revolution, New York City's population mushroomed to over a million eighty years later. The rise of the Brooklyn Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time, represented the city bursting onto the world stage. After the great bridge rose out of the depths of the river floor to tower over the booming metropolis. Just three short years later the Statue of Liberty would rise in the harbor, and steel frames would allow buildings to reach for the stars, but it all started with the Brooklyn Bridge.

Itinerary

We'll start in New York's Civic Center at the Tweed Courthouse. Continue to the Municipal Building, City Hall, the original New York Times Newspaper building, before ascending up the Brooklyn Bridge. After walking the length of the bridge, we'll continue to explore the modern neighborhood of DUMBO and the historic Brooklyn Heights while stopping for stunning photo ops along the way. The city never looked so enchanting as it does from the bridge and the waterfront.

Can't go to the up and coming waterfront neighborhood of DUMBO without tasting some of the wonderful offerings for example: Best chocolate shop in NYC (Jacques Torres), classic pizza, the best fast casual burger, and a perfect cup of coffee!
