Henrhyd Falls, Black Mountain Pass, Meneb Garn Goch and Carreg Cennen Castle.
This is a tour for those who like the outdoors and the unexpected! We take small and wide roads to find mysterious forms of nature and monuments of our forebears. It is best taken on sunny days but there is also some special about those rainy skies too. It is best to leave early so that we arrive at the falls before many others have found their way to this hidden gem. Carreg Cennen Castle is on the top of an amazing limestone outcrop so with fabulous views across Wales. It is a little walk up hill. We find the remains of a huge limestone quarry on the top of a pass- testament to the workers of Wales. With luck we will see red kites (birds) hovering overhead as we search for the lost fort of Meneb Garn Goch.
Depart from Cardiff as soon after breakfast as we can. First stop the Henrhyd falls.
Drive through the mining town of Brynamman to take the Brecon Pass - to the Lime quarry workings for a short walk -
Down to the might Carreg Cennen Castle for lunch and visit.
Return to Cardiff via another pass over the Brecon Beacons. Stopping places will depend on clients preferences and the weather.
If the weather turns bad an alternative is to visit the Whisky Distillery at Penderyn on the return journey.
