My name is Manny and I was born here and know the city well. I was here through the Big Dig, the transformation of the South End and South Boston, and, most importantly, the arrival of Eataly in Copley Place.
Don't worry; Boston may have a reputation as one of America's meanest and most racist cities, but it's really not - well, most of the time. I'll just put it this way: we're making a lot of progress. All kidding aside, Boston has a rich history and definitely earns its place in the pantheon of US history. Although it played a pivotal role in the founding of the country, it has recently been undergoing a renaissance that has either included or not included entire sections and populations of the city - depending on who you ask. Join us as we experience this growth and change and see what sort of effect it has had on the city and its people. This is part of what makes Boston such an increasingly vibrant and engaging city. Its citizenry is definitely vociferous and will let you know exactly what they think.
Have lived around the world - ten years in the Asia Pacific region (Thailand, Taiwan, China, Philippines, and Australia). During that time I found myself giving tours of the cities I lived in to friends and family. Now that I'm back in Boston, I've decided I want to start sharing my version of the city with new people - showing them parts of the city they would not ordinarily see or experience. This is especially important to me. There's nothing more that I hate than experiencing a sanitized and dull version of a city. I want to know what really happened in a place and why and what sort of effect it had on the people.
I look forward to exploring Boston with people who want a deeper, more nuanced understanding of what Boston has to offer - culturally, artistically, and societally.
One final note: all of my tours can be customized to cater to group preferences. If you see something you don't like and want to change things up, I'm happy to do that. Alternatively, if you don't see something you like and want to suggest a whole new tour, I'm happy to work with you on that, as well.

If one could rate more stars we would. Manny was knowledgeable and terrific with all ages. He combines food and history and I have not seen my husband (86) nor my granddaughter ( a sullen 13) this engaged and happy. Kudos to Manny and company.
