This tour is perfect for those people who spend in Bologna a short-term stay and wish to visit as much as they can
This tour is recommended for people who spend in Bologna a short-term stay and wish to visit both cities. In case you choose to visit the cities by train I'll be with you during the transfers to/from Modena.

Modena is a historic university town and its buildings give you the opportunity to relive the medieval town still filled by the echoes of Este's court, who transformed the city into the capital of their Duchy in 1598. Modena is home to the 12th century Cathedral. Now the Cathedral the soaring Tower and Piazza Grande are Unesco monuments.

The tour ends with the former Jewish Ghetto, where the synagogue is located, Piazza Roma with the Este's Ducal Palace, presently seat of a Military Academy and the oldest Delicatessen in Europe, the "salumeria Giusti" founded in 1605.
The tour starts at Piazza Maggiore with its main buildings: the City Hall, Podestà Palace, Neptune's Fountain, King Enzo's Palace, Sala Borsa (closed on Sundays), Palazzo dei Banchi, Palazzo dei notai, Accursio Palace and Basilica of Saint Petronio with the longest sundial in the world. The tour continues with Galluzzi court, Piazza Galvani and Archiginnasio. Walk through the historical Food Market up to Saint Steven square and Saint Steven Churches Complex. Manuela was an amazing tour guide. She was so knowledgeable regarding the history of Bologna and Modena and all the sites we wanted to see. She was sensitive to my daughter being cold and helped us to find a store to by the appropriate clothing to continue the tour. Her suggestion for lunch was amazing. We would recommend her and definitely use her again when traveling to Rome. Caio, the Kosh Klan
