Half day walking tour including Michelangelo's David (with skip-the-line entrance)
I will take you through the fascinating history of Florence from its foundation to our days, its astounding art and architecture, the industrial and crafts specialities as well as the great people who made its world-class reputation.
The tour runs along the most significant spots of the historical center of Florence: Ponte Vecchio, the bridge of the goldsmiths; the Signoria square, with its spectacular Palace (seat of the Florentine government since the Middle Ages); the Duomo square, with the Cathedral (3rd in the world by side) and it's unique dome, the Baptistery (the oldest religious building in town) and Giotto's bell tower; the Medici Palace, the prototype of the Renaissance private family residence; the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts (Accademia), with the original massive statue of Michelangelo's David (the most photographed sculpture in the world!) as well as 6 other masterpieces of this matchless genius of the Renaissance.
The historic centre of Florence:
Old Bridge, Signoria Square, Duomo Square, Medici Palace and the Accademia Gallery (opened Tuesday to Sunday. On Mondays this can be replaced by another museum or a church).
* Please note that the Cathedral of Florence is a place of worship: if the tour takes place during the mass hours (Sundays and religious holidays) we will visit the interior of another church or landmark.
