The top sights, in one tour: Romans; Rivers; Royalty; Empire; WW2 & more
Want to really get London? This 3. 5 hour tour takes in the key sights you really want to see - then shows you a whole lot more.
Orient yourself quickly in the big city: take a walk with someone who loves London, distilling its best into one tour. I'll show you our wonderful city from the best vantage points and tell you its tales.
I can give you as much (or as little!) history as you like, while we see some of the best views in Europe. See the intinerary for more details, but we can take in Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and more.
If we start 9. 30am we can end with the Changing of the Guard (NB: only *alternate days* Aug-Mar and not in rain!). Or we go in reverse and *start* with the Guard Change around 11. 45am. This means we can end at the famous Borough Market food market experience where I can leave you to lunch.
If you want a custom tour, we can extend the time or go further afield. Alternatively, see the Wonderful Westminster tour for more time in this area.
If you still have a question, you can easily use the 'Ask Me a Question' button to contact me.
The tour usually starts by the famous Borough Market food market but can run in reverse to finish here for lunch.
We see the EXTERIORS* of the classic sights:
St Paul's Cathedral
Tower of London
Tate Modern Art Museum
The Thames River (crucial to London)
A chance to stand next to the Queen's Redcoat guardsmen
Whitehall & Prime Minister's street
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: The tour is reversible. It starts at a great vantage point in Central London. I can give you precise details when you book. Or if you prefer, I can come to your hotel.
End location: Depending on direction, we usually either finish in the area of Buckingham Palace, which is handy for subway stations like Green Park, Victoria and St James's; or we finish in the East by London Bridge and Borough Market.
Duration: 3 hours 30 min.
This is a standard tour duration, but we can extend this if you like. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss.
London has a fantastic public transport system, so let's use it! Everywhere is accessible by Tube that you'd like to go. Grab yourself a day pass or an Oyster Card and you'll be native in no time.
My guiding services with 12+ years experience in tourism including 6+ years experience of working with Tours By Locals to give visitors a great time. The tour does not include any entry fees (you may come back later on your own time and linger if there's somewhere you particularly want to go into) but most of these sights are best appreciated from the outside and I want to show you as much as possible on the tour.
Afterwards, many of our great museums are free, like the National Gallery. But Westminster Abbey and St Paul's do charge for admission.
Also, we'll take one subway (tube) journey. So you'll need either an Oyster Card (pay-as-you-go) or Travelcard (eg one day ticket). You can pay cash though it's expensive (£4).
I can advise you in advance what will work best for you or even pick up your tickets for you in advance. See this link http://visitorshop.tfl.gov.uk/
Estimated Local Cash Needed
6 GBP - You might need an Oyster card (£5 deposit p/p) or a bottle of water (£1). Many attractions are free to see from the outside, as are many of our finest museums. If we spot somewhere you'd like to pay to look into, you can do that later - happy in the knowledge you've already had a good scout about.
Refreshments or any food stops we make.
I am not a driver; we have a wonderful - and comprehensive - public transport system to enjoy here.
I am not a Blue Badge guide but have 12 years experience and four continents under my guiding belt.
