Kona is one of the most overlooked areas for historical sights in Hawaii. Kona was the original capital and primary residence for King Kamehameha I. We visit some significant little known sights in Kona then head to down Alli'i drive towards one of the oldest coffee farms in Hawaii, if you don't like coffee we can visit a cacao farm instead and sample some amazing and rare chocolate (closed Sat, Sun, Mon).
Some other stops include the famous Painted Church and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. This park is without doubt the most significant Hawaiian Heritage site in all of the Islands.
There is an optional stop to walk through a lava tube as well.
We also stop at Kealakekua Bay where Captain Cook fell on Feb 14th 1779. We view Cook Monument from across Kealakekua Bay a protected bay where the great British explorer met a violent death.

The Best of Kona Tour
Kona Coffee Farm We start the Tour at one of Kona's oldest Coffee farms for the finest coffee tour in Kona or a Cacao farm in Kona with samples.
We then head south to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. This park is without doubt the most significant Hawaiian Heritage site in all of the Islands.
We then tour the Painted Church, the active St. Benedict Catholic Church a Catholic Cathedral in the Hawaii Jungle.

As this Tour is a Private Tour it gives you the ability to see what you want, it is possible to do the tour in four hours and I have had people take over six hours, I want people to enjoy the tour at a pace they are comfortable with.

15 Dollars - The Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park has a park fee of $15 per adult. They do accept credit cards. They do not accept National Park passes because you are on a private guided tour.
My lifting maximum is 30 pounds so I can not lift luggage or mobility scooters.
