Splendid royal residence private tour with a van or limousine
Potsdam is located about 30 kilometers (18 miles) from Berlin city center and is surrounded by numerous beautiful lakes. It is one of the few german cities that enjoys a population growth probably due to its newly found fame as a center for scientific institutions.
Initially a garrison city and residence of the Hohenzollern dynasty it largely maintained its original character.
Coming from Berlin we will cross the Glienicker Bridge, famous for the exchange of spies in the sixties and eighties.
Places of interest during a visit to Potsdam are the reconstructed Royal Palace (today Landtag), the Royal Horse Stables, Nikolai Church, St. Peter and Paul Church, the Dutch quarter.
The highlight is the group of palaces within park Sanssouci. Especially Sanssouci Palace constructed by order of Frederic II. - remains a Rococo jewel.
Also very worthwhile is the visit of the Palace Cecilienhof where the famous "Potsdam Conference" took place in the summer of 1945.

My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of spending almost two days with Hilke in October touring both Berlin and Potsdam. We found Hilke to be both warm and accommodating as she shared her vast knowledge and enthusiasm of both cities with us. Given that I have a severe hearing loss I was particularly appreciative of her special attention given to me to make sure I could understand and see her face at all times. This made the difference for me and enhanced my experience to the fullest.
