A Must for Travelers who are interested in the Military
Are you interested in military affairs? Or are you even an active or retired soldier? This tour offers a great overview over more than 300 years of military history in Prussia and Germany. Can you believe that the Berlin people had to deal with ten different armies that affected history and politics? I am talking about the Prussian Army, the Imperial German Army, the "Reichswehr" of the Weimar Republic, Hitler's Wehrmacht, the U. S. Army, the British Royal Army, the French Army, the Soviet Army, the East German National People's Army (NVA) and nowadays the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). This history is unique in the world. You will get background information that "normal" tourists will never know about. For example, where the famous German General Staff used to have its headquarters, where famous Prussian generals had their homes, and from what places the Nazi leaders governed Germany and executed their fatal political decions. The Cold War and the division of the city will also be a major topic.

I enjoyed a wonderful day walking the streets of Berlin with Alex. As a guide Alex is superb and I lucked out booking him as my guide. I was able to see things I would never have contemplated and Alex organized my itinerary to meet my interests. That personal touch together with his knowledge and love of history made for the best walking tour of Berlin I could ever have hoped for. I would recommend Alex without hesitation. The next time I'm in Berlin there is only one tour guide I will be booking.
