Private Berlin Tour: World Cultural Heritage in Germany's capital
A great experience is a visit to the fantastic museums on Berlin's so-called Museum Island, part of the World Cultural Heritage.
First of all, the Pergamon Museum with the famous Babylonian Ishtar Gate, the procession street and splendid roman architecture.
Attention: The Pergamon altar, a scuplture piece of the Hellenistic time, is not shown due to construction work.
In the neighbourhood, we'll also find the Neues Museum, where we can visit the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Its famous bust as a lot of other remarkable objects of ancient times can be discovered in this fantasticly restored building by David Chipperfield.
Germany is known for its romantic movement in the arts. A big amount of the most famous paintings of this time, mostly by Caspar David Friedrich, are on display to admire in the nearby Old National Gallery.
Painting Gallery, Museum of Applied Art, contemporary art in the Hamburger Bahnhof and Bauhaus are other important art venues to explore.
Ask the art historians advice.
