It is a city of rain, fish trade, mountains, music, culture and laid-back locals. However, for a short period of time in the Middle Ages it was also the capital of Norway, which has led to competition later on between Oslo and Bergen. This sentiment of rivalry still exists today.
Bergen has a long history of fish trade, and the Hanseatic league stayed in the city for several hundred years.
The composer Edvard Grieg and the violin virtuoso Ole Bull both grew up in Bergen and made a huge impact on Norway as a cultural nation. During my city walk I will tell you all about it.
As Bergen has an interesting street art scene I also offer street art tours.
A Recent Review of this guide
Tone provided us with an excellent street art tour. She was very prompt, professional, and knowlegable. She was also very willing to answer all our questions and to tailor the tour to our preferences. We would definitely take a tour with her again.
In 2017 I became an authorized guide in English. This year I took the same course in French and Italian.
Apart from being a guide I work as a subtitler for a Norwegian tv channel.
Personal areas of interest: street art, music, photography.
I am not a driver. I do walking tours only.
