Discover the chouf region on this 8 hour tour from Beirut. Our First stop will be at Beitddine palace. Built over 30 years beginning in 1788, the palace was the personal home of emir Bashir Shihab II who wanted the mansion to be a place of singular beauty and legendary opulence. The castle was built on a hermitage called Beiteddine (House of Faith) and featured all manner of amenity including a lush personal apartment for the emir, a harem, and a rich guest house that was often offered to passing luminaries and dignitaries.
Second stop will be at Deirelkamar. a town restored and maintained in a style many centuries old.
Our Final Stop will be at Sidon (also known as Saida). Along with the city of Tyre, Sidon was the most powerful city-state of ancient Phoenicia and first manufactured the purple dye.
We will leave Beirut in the morning and we will head south east to Beiteddin Palace, we will stop after at the city of Deir El-Kamar and we will visits Notre Dame Church and Fakhreddine Mosque.
After DeirelKamar, We will head south to Saida, and we will visit the Sea Castle, Khan El Franj and the Soap museum.

Our tour guide Hussein was a knowledgeable gentleman. we recommend to see Beitddine and Deirelkamar. They are completely different than Beirut. Since Khan El Franj was closed at 17.00 we were able to see it only from the gate. for the same reason we couldn't see the Soap museum. Anyway, it was not a big interest for us.
