Conwy and Llangollen

Driving to the Snowdonia National Park to the wonderful medieval town of Conwy located on the mouth of the estuary. A totally walled castle town. Built in 1287 by Edward I Conwy never ceases to impress - the castle is magnificent and its easy to walk the towers and garrison. We will then walk down to the pretty harbour and start walking around the town along the walls.
Our drive will then go thru part of Snowdonia N. P. and across the moors to Lllangollen where we will walk through the working canal systemPontcysyllte Aqueduct, built in 1805 it stands 127' in the air and connects the valley. From there we can visit the Crucis Abbey ruins dating from the 1200's and drive thru a medieval town with a number of interesting buildings. If our
time and the timetable allows - you could take a heritage steam train in Llangollen and I will pick you up at the terminal. .

A Recent Review of this tour

A very delightful person, wanting to find out our interests. She was very flexible and adapted the order of what she had planned to accommodate our desires. She was a skilled driver and allowed us the freedom to set a pace we could handle. She also had a vast knowledge of the area's history. Our day with Pauline was one of the major highlights of our entire four-week trip.
