I was born and raised in the Loire Valley, amongst the Medieval Castles such as Amboise, Chenonceau etc. . Living in the region gave me the taste of history. I studied languages in Tours University. Then I moved to Paris where I started off as a waitress and a few years after became "Maitre d'Hotel". In the different restaurants where I worked I met a lot of guides. But life is busy in the big city and in 2000 I decided to move to Normandy with my son and my husband (who's family lived in Normandy during WW2). My dream was to be a guide and when we came here, I decided to study and study. I worked for 6 years in a very good museum in Arromanches, on the sector code-named GOLD ( where British troops landed) and a further 6 years as a guide and supervisor for 8 guides, for a company providing tours on the American battlefields all around Normandy .
The reasons why I am a guide:
When I was 10 I studied at school "Anne Frank's Diary". It is such a sad story! As a child I wanted to unsderstand why this happened. I started to read and read . . and never stopped. This book really gave me the passion for History. My dream was to be a guide, when we moved to Normandy and after long studies my dream came true!
Throughout the years I have been honored to meet a large number of veterans, the brave men who fought for our freedom. What I love is to share my passion for History with my guests , adding personal stories told by the veterans themselves. Every day is different for me. I'm so thrilled to meet people coming from all around the world to share our culture, traditions and different ways of life!
So you are more than welcome on my tours! I'm looking forward to spending a day or more with you on my tours!
I've been a Guide since 2004.
