Bassano del Grappa and Marostica area, between Palladian Villas, Grappa and Ceramics
A view on a clear day from the Bassano del Grappa hills, from Ser Ivo Castle or from the Piazza Maggiore, nestled at the foot of the Monte Grappa, is definitely worth the trip to this fascinating area, rich in cultural traditions. The most beautiful view of Bassano is from the Brenta river with the old wooden bridge connecting the two sites of the river. On the right side it is possible to visit the Grapperia Nardini, the oldest in Italy and right in front of is situated the Grappa Poli Museum where lovers of this old spirit will learn about its production method and history. Not far from this charming medieval town is situated Marostica, surrounded by walls and castles with its famous chess square. On a charming hill above the Astico river is situated Villa Godi Malinverni, the first villa built by Andrea Palladio.

We combined two tours into one long day. It was perfect for our schedule. Thanks to Reuben we saw everything we wanted to in an efficient yet unhurried way. He was informative and flexible. His English was perfect, and we also got to practice Spanish and learned a little Italian.
