I'll help you discover and understand Barcelona, how it got to be the way it is and what is going on right now, including the 'independentista' struggle, and we experience the best sites on a range of stimulating and entertaining routes. Any tickets we can buy in advance, so no lines and no waiting.
The most popular itineraries last four or eight hours, but we can easily set up a longer custom tour or a layover visit to suit the time you have available. Within the city center, we can see everything by strolling or jumping in a taxi. If a private car suits you better I have a hybrid Honda which will get us wherever we want to go in air-conditioned comfort. For larger groups I provide a 7-seater minivan.
If you want a custom tour, just give me an idea of what you'd like to see and how much time you want to spend seeing it, and I'll plan an itinerary. Everything is exactly as you want it to be, just the best private tour I can arrange.
Get in touch as soon as you know when you're coming and let's arrange your visit.

Jim was very informative and friendly. He was punctual and knew a lot information about Barcelona to include political, economic and social issues affecting the area. We would recommend Jim with no reservations about his service.
I'm a professor of American Study Abroad college students, exhibition curator and cultural resource consultant (my particular obsession is with Barcelona's architecture). I'm not a 'licensed tour guide'. I keep close tabs on the local political developments and current cultural debates, and can explain what is happening in Catalonia and its historic capital as we explore it on your own private tour.
