The Barrio Gotico, Jewish Call, Ramblas, markets, Modernisme and Gaudi
This lively family tour uncovers 2, 000 years of Barcelona's history, from the Roman temple, hidden in the depths of the city centre, to the Olympic stadium on top of Montjuic, overlooking the sprawling metropolis. We'll take in the palaces and churches of medieval Barcelona when it was the capital of one of Europe's Great Powers, the narrow streets of the Call, occupied by the Jewish community before its expulsion in 1492, the jaw-dropping houses of the wealthy industrialists who commissioned Gaudí and his colleagues, and the born-again city of the '92 Olympics, rediscovering its shoreline and the pleasures of outdoor life on the streets and squares of the Mediterranean city.
We can get to visit the Gothic Quarter, cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar, el Born, the former Jewish neighborhood, one of the markets, stroll the Ramblas, plus (in whatever order works best) Gaudí's Palau Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà (la Pedrera), the Sagrada Familia or the Park Güell (we have to reserve tickets).

Jim did a great job of showing us the sites of Barcelona. We had a custom tour with many special requests, and he was very accommodating of all our needs. We really appreciated his perspective on the city, and would highly recommend him!
