A Tour of the Historic Slave Trade Town of Badagry and Its Beaches

This laid back, historic town will make you never want to leave. It is easy going and rustic with coconut trees swaying. Here you'll learn about the slave trade movement that thrived in the coastal town.

Highlights:

- The Badagry Heritage Museum that preserves artifacts from the slave era
- The 'Aqia tree' point where Christianity was first preached in Nigeria
- The 'Island of No Return' where slaves were marshaled through to waiting ships
- Coconut Beach
- Souvenir Market
- Coconut juice straight from the trees in their shell

Itinerary

I shall pick you up at your hotel or location of choice at 7. 30a. m in a chauffeured, air-conditioned sedan or SUV. We will then drive through towards the boundary of Lagos where Badagry town is situated.

The first point if call will be the town's Heritage Museum which houses sculptures depicting slaves in chains, actual chains used during the trade and various art works.
We shall then move on to the 'Aqia tree' monument point where Christianity was first preached in Nigeria.

We shall also visit other areas of attraction such as the Badagry market, the King's palace, the coconut beach and board a boat to the 'Island of No Return' where the slaves were routed through to the ships taking them to foreign countries.

We shall have light snacks during our stay in Badagry so feel free to come with food to picnic or buy local delicacies.
Our trip back to your hotel or any location in Lagos you request will commence at 2. 30p. m through the same vehicle.
