Bucktown & Wicker Park
Have you already seen the Sears Tower? Tried deep dish pizza and chicago style hotdogs? That's all good, but now it's time to get off the beaten path and hop on the "el" and check out one of Chicago's 77 diverse and interesting neighborhoods and see how the locals live. On this tour, we'll explore a neighborhood, which began as predominately German and Scandinavian and still maintains some of its Old World feel but has a more eclectic vibe today including historic homes, a large artisan community, shops and cafes! Are you ready for an urban adventure? Let's go!
We will meet at the Cultural Center where we begin the tour. After a look at the building inside and out, we then will see the highlights of Downtown Chicago which includes amazing history, architecture & art. Then we will take the cta Blueline to Bucktown/Wicker Park.
The tour ends in Bucktown/Wicker Park where you can have lunch and shop and check out the neighborhood. I will direct everyone how to get back downtown via the "el".
Please be prepared and dress accordingly. Tours will take place regardless of the weather. Depending on the season I would suggest layers and possibly an umbrella.
