Enjoy and learn about BA cuisine.
This is not a gourmet tour, this is a tour to learn and taste the typical and popular meals of the city.
We will do it in a funny way, walking , a bit, the streets of the neighborhood of San Telmo, at the old part of Buenos Aires. Empanadas, choripan, steak , dulce de leche gelato, and more, will be part of the menu. . . and Malbec wine, of course!
Please ask for more than two travelers'price.
This tour will take place within the old neighborhood of San Telmo. The axis of the tour will be Defensa street, visiting Indoor San Telmo Market, Plaza Dorrego and Lezama Park (approximate walking distance : 10 blocks). Ideal starting time at 12 am.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: The tour starts at the corner of Defensa and Chile streets, in San Telmo neighborhood. There is a statue of a local famous comic character : Mafalda. I will be wearing a Tours By Locals cap and lanyard. I can suggest you how to get there from your lodging/cruise/ etc.
End location: The tour ends at the corner of Defensa and Brasil streets, in front of Lezama Park. I can suggest how to come back to your lodging/cruise, etc.
Duration: 3 hours
It is a walking tour, approximated 10 blocks distance from beginning to end. We can use taxi/Uber upon traveler's request. (not included)
My services as a private tour guide.
We will stop at three different places, enjoying the following food:
1) Empanadas, typical Argentinian pizza and beer
2) Choripan, Steak, Salad and Malbec wine
3) Dulce de Leche Ice Cream/Gelato
Plus Alfajores, Candies and Mate Cocido for taking back with you.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
1000 pesos - (Optional): This about USD 60 , for souvenirs, or extra food/cookies/sweets, etc you might take with you. Also for average taxi ride from and to cruise port and downtown. US Dollars and credit cards are generally welcome in Buenos Aires. I will assist you for any concern about ATMs, exchange rate, credit card and Global Blue tax refund (for shopping purchases).
This is not an "all you can eat tour" but the amount of included food is more than enough. Specific cuts/meals/desserts/beverages/wines, etc beyond my planned menu.
