Gordes and the villages of the Luberon
Imagine: a large green distance punctuated here and there with purple squares and brown villages. Welcome I the Luberon.
For few weeks in June and July, the eyes of the world turn toward this area of Provence where lavender is produced. I will stop you near one of them.
We'll drive through a picturesque countryside, enjoy countless picture stops and discover some of the iconic villages of the area, where I'll introduce you to the traditions that use to give its pace to the life in the South of France.
Gordes. You will first discover it from the other side of the valley, in order to appreciate the design of this unique piece of art, before strolling its charming streets.
Lourmarin. The village of Giono, is simply our favorite one.
Roussillon. The village of the ochres will give you the impression to walk the palette of a painter.
Menerbes. Built on a roc pic it received the label "Plus beau village de France" (most beautiful village), and honestly its deserved.
Other villages can be suggested.
Stop for the view over Gordes before touring the village.
Drive through the lavender fields (mid-June until mid-July) and stop at one.
