See the houses Jane Austen stayed in and the places she wrote about
Jane Austen's family had close connections with Bath. She visited Bath a number of times before living here for several years. Bath is a World Heritage City and one reason it was awarded this status is that it is the best preserved Georgian city, many parts of which Jane would recognise. The two novels in which much of the action takes place in Bath are her first, 'Northanger Abbey' and her last 'Persuasion'. The streets and buildings Jane writes about are mostly still here as are the houses she stayed or lived in. In the tour I will show you Jane's Bath and entertain you with extracts from her novels and diaries.
The tour will include the Abbey, Pump Room, Bathing Establishments, Assembly Rooms, Circus, Royal Crescent, Pulteney Street, Sydney Gardens. It will include the Highlights of Bath and film venues. You will see the houses Jane stayed and lived, the church in which her parents married and where her father is buried and the park she enjoyed.

Our Jane Austen tour of Bath with guide Susan last week was all that we hoped for and more. We were shown the highlights of Jane Austen's stay in Bath and thus we got to know more about her plus seeing the beautiful attractions of Bath! Sue herself was highly knowledgeable and very amiable and we got on very well with her. We'd recommend this tour and Sue herself to anyone interested in Jane Austen and Bath itself!
