Auschwitz concentration camp complex composed of Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II - Birkenau and Monowitz was the biggest of this kind established by the Nazis. It is located in the southern part of Poland about 60 km (about 35 miles) from Kraków and about 280 km from Warsaw. It is estimated that about 1. 1 million people were murdered there. The museum was created just after the war. The idea came from the former prisoners and was to show people what happened here in order not to repeat it in future.

Anna was a great guide. From the moment she picked me up at the Train Station she was very professional in handling all the details of the tour. Anna was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Auschwitz as well as the city of Krakow in general. The tour felt like I was traveling with a friend rather than a guide. I would certainly book her services again.
