During my University days I honed my restaurant and bar skills in Auckland's ever expanding restaurant scene from the 1980's and onwards. I'm a third generation New Zealander and have been living in and around the centre of Auckland for over 37 years. I have witnessed Auckland change from a slightly hesitant "big smoke" to this vibrant multi-cultural hub, and have foraged out great places that I enjoy going to with family and friends and want to share with the world.
I love Auckland because it is a big multicultural city, yet it offers wonderful scenery and unique natural habitat. I love walking the streets and also the native bush tracks and seeing and hearing our unique native birds. I love going to the beaches along our two oceans which are out of this world fantastic, there are so many great beaches to choose from. I love hiking up the volcanoes from which one gets a great vantage point. I also love the way Auckland city spreads into the iconic green farming community and vineyards. Auckland's climate has kept me firmly in this place as it's mild and really only has three seasons (missing what most people know as winter). Even though I do spend much time outdoors I'm also immensely proud of Auckland's restaurant and bar scene and of course New Zealand wine, New Zealand micro-brewed beer, cocktails and delicious local food. And I especially enjoy sharing these with great company.
I have travelled extensively through Europe and South East Asia and lived for a time in Germany. And yes I do still have a long travel bucket list that I am working towards ticking off!
About my tours; Auckland is an extremely spread out city and one can spend a great deal of time stuck in the car! With my tours I endeavour to keep the time in the car to a minimum without compromising on getting a great feel for the city of Auckland. My focus is about giving my visitors a broad overview of our absolutely amazing city! I do this through getting a great vantage point and showcasing its picturesque scenery, its history, geography, architecture and local food, wine and/or micro brewed beer and cocktails. But also meeting the people behind our hospitality scene. In short my tours focus on where we as Aucklanders like to go and enjoy an afternoon with family and friends! So come and join me on an intimate and relaxed showcasing of what Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) has to offer.

Mimi provided a fantastic 'foodie' tour of Auckland with not only tasty bites but also great insights to the craft cocktail and food scene in this very walkable city. This is a great introductory tour for anyone who will be staying in Auckland for a few nights as there will be so many great choices to pick from for dining once you've spent the day with Mimi!
