National Archaeological Museum and a walking tour in the old districts.
Athens, National Archaeological Museum: Everything is here, in the largest and most important museum of the country! The famous prehistoric collection, consisting of all Mycenae and Tiryns findings, marble Cycladic figurines, the finest sculpture from the Archaic to the late Hellenistic era, grave stelae, pottery, the life celebrating frescoes from Akrotiri, the famous bronze statues found in the bottom of the Aegean sea.
After our museum tour, a walk to the most vibrant districts of downtown Athens, where its European and Oriental character intersect: Central market and Psirri district. Time for cup of greek coffee among the locals! Or, would it be lunch with local "meze" and greek spirits?!

Maria is your go-to guide. She speaks perfect english (and french), she is extremely knowledgeable and has a pleasant way of telling stories, you will never get bored. She is very flexible as well, adjusting the tour according to what we were more interested in. She even extended her services beyond our designated time to help us book in clubs and restaurants. We booked two tours with her and it was indeed the best decision.
