One day tour to the heart of myth and history

We leave Athens and drive along the coast of the Aegean Sea. Our first stop is at the Corinth Canal, one of the longest man-made canals in the world. Next, we drive to Mycenae dated in the 2nd millennium B. C, home to the hero of Homer's Iliad, Agamemnon. We visit the site, walk through the famous Lions Gate, see the ruins of the Grave circle, the royal palace and the Cyclopean walls, visit the small but very interesting museum, and the famous Treasury of Atreus, known also as the beehive tomb because of its shape.
We continue to the first capital of Greece, Nafplion. We stroll in the old town, a charming mix of Greek, Venetian and Ottoman architecture.
Our next destination is the most important ancient healing sanctuary, where Greeks went in hope of being cured, Epidaurus. The theatre, important for the healing process, is the best preserved in Greece and admired for its acoustics.
