Combine the Bellybutton of the world with the religious center of St. Loukas in one excursion!!!
Enjoy the natural vistas of mainland Greece on a relaxing drive to Delphi destined for the greatness of our ancient civilisation; the Delphi oracle, located under the 3000ft tall mount Parnassos and between the beautiful stone villages of Arahova and one of the most protected medieval monasteries of Unesco.
-Delphi's Archaeological site & Museum
-Monastery of St. Loukas (UNESCO)
We start driving from Athens north-west thought many spectacular areas like the cotton fields of the birthplace of Hercules, Thebes and Zeus' favourite village Livadia. We continue driving way up to the mountains enjoying the view of thousands of acres with olive trees until we reach Parnassos a 3000ft mountain with a glorious ski centre and the stunning village of stone houses of Arahova.
Then we reach our destination, the site of the temple of Apollo along with the treasuries of every city state of Delphi where you will spend some time in the museum watching ornaments of antiquity like the Sphinx of Naxos, the charioteer, the navel of the world and one the first musical instruments, Hydraulis.
Finally, we spend some time in the nearby village of Delphi for lunch and we leave for the monastery of St. Loukas which is located on an Acropolis where an old temple of Dimiter existed. After visiting the monastery we head back to Athens.
