I was discounted when I was younger, I love it when they are engaged. I have a DVD system in the car for the end of the day :)

A day in the Painted Desert

The land is enchanted here in Northern Arizona. From the sacred San Francisco Peaks to the Little Colorado River, the land speaks from a time when the earth's wisdom was absolute. In just 125 years primitive culture thousands of years unchanged were forced to adapt to today's western culture. Today we will explore old ruins of the past with tales of archeo-astronomy, predicting the changing seasons for their agrarian based society. Then go visit a historic trading post that has been doing business with locals and travelers for over 100 years. Arizona is an enchanted land with a rich and deep cultural heritage. We will visit spectacular canyons and little volcanoes that make you feel even smaller on this grand adventure. Our goal is for everyone to walk away from this tour feeling a little more connected to this land and the desire to protect our sacred places.

Itinerary

I will meet you and your party at the predetermined location. We will start our day driving out through the San Francisco Volcanic Fields to Wutpaki where we will explore our first ancestral puebloan ruins. We will then visit two more ruin sites and explore some bizarre geologic features that add to the mystical charm of the area. We will have a perfect unobstructed views of the painted desert and the San Francisco Peaks. The tour will continue as we head north towards the Navajo Reservation for lunch. The Cameron Trading Post has been here for over 100 years doing business in the heart of the painted desert. The area is vast and arid with canyons and traditional buildings scattered about the landscape. This is still wild country where the cowboys still work. We will head back to Flagstaff/Sedona just in time for dinner.
