Incredible views a short drive from Phoenix
A nice overview of one of my favorite drives, AZ-88 was built in 1906 as a supply road during the construction of Roosevelt Dam. The drive features amazing views of mountains, canyons, lakes and is a narrow road that winds through tight turns and ravines. Sights along the route include Lost Dutchman State Park, Superstition Mountain Visitor Center, Goldfield Ghost Town, and Tortilla flat.
We'll depart the Valley and catch historic AZ-88 in Apache Juntion; optional stops could include: Superstition Mountain Museum
Visitor's Center and
Weaver's Needle Vista viewpoint.
Once we leave "AJ"(Apache Jct. , as known by locals) we'll head out on one of the most scenic drives in AZ!
You'll see incredible canyons, mountain, & desert as we ride the trail to our destination of Tortilla Flat.
This unique, old west town with a population of 6 but many interesting visitors features a restaurant where you may stop & eat if desired before heading back to the Valley.

Eric was very accommodating and made sure that we were able to see and photograph the sites that we were interested in. He picked us up a convenient location to start the tour. He explained the details of the tour. We were able to adjust the tour and to stop and take photos at anytime. Very good tour and guide. Thanks Eric -
