A private walking tour with personal local guide
Antwerp is the real urban deal. A refreshingly down-to-earth yet vivacious cosmopolitan habitat blessed with magnificent architecture, fashionable shop fronts, beer-washed pubs, dazzling monuments, jazzed-up clubs, inspired artworks and restaurant tables piled with plates of superb Belgian and multicultural food.
Antwerp is the home of the Flemish Baroque master Rubens, and not only has a wealth of outstanding museums, picturesque galleries, sculpted streets and beautiful architecture, but is also laced with refreshing greenery and urban haunts.
Much like the diamonds, Antwerp sparkles with an impressive range of architecture from medieval buildings to the Art Nouveau styles. Antwerp is a splendid city with most buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. The past is also represented by the numerous paintings of Peter Paul Rubens who lived in Antwerp in the early 17th century. Three major paintings of his may be seen in the Cathedral of our Lady, a masterpiece of lace work in stone. Begun in 1352, it is one of the finest gothic buildings in Europe.
Moreover Antwerp is the diamond centre of the World. If diamonds really are a girl's best friend, then a lot of ladies will not leave out a visit to Antwerp's diamond district around the Railway Station. This area is also the Jewish part of the city.

A very thorough day tour to Antwerp from Brussels. Johan was knowledgable and energetic and sensitive to our needs. Unfortunately, the weather the day we took the trip was a bit rough, but we made the best of it. I would recommend this tour without hesitation!
