A day with the Gauchos of the Pampas.
San Antonio de Areco differs from the rest of the settlements of the Buenos Aires Province in its nostalgic ambience. Its historical area, with the italianized criolla architecture, its estancias and rural roads, the gauchos with their horses, the calmness of the country-side with a number of green hues, the skilled artisans, the old bars with the spontaneous greeting of the local, the museums, the old- fashioned stores and the antiquarians contribute to create an atmosphere typical to that of the old days of the gaucho.
After visiting S. A. de Areco we will go to Estancia (Ranch)"El Ombú"; where you will enjoy our delicious meat. You will also have the choice of a horse riding. And after lunch a show. This Estancia is not so turistic. It takes not more than 35 people. It is a completely different experience.
I will pick you up and start our trip to San Antonio de Areco. After that we will go to an Estancia which is not so touristic as the common ones and we will have lunch under some huge trees. There are some optional activities that you can do before lunch: riding horses, swimming pool, carriages. All these activities are included in the price. It is a very nice place in the middle of the field. You will learn about the history of the Gaucho life.
After a very good meal we will watch a show and then we will go back to the city.

Elisabet was our tour guide for the all day visit to the ranch. She has visited the ranch many times and conveyed her knowledge of the ranch to us very throughly. Both Elisabet and the driver were very kind and concerned about our comfort. Visiting the ranch was like going to a family event. They made us feel very welcome. We would recommend Elisabet as a guide to anyone traveling to Argentina. If you want to have a ranch experience you couldn't go wrong with the one recommended by Elisabet.
