Hungry for more of our history? Then take an even longer unforgettable historic walk through time into Antigua's rich history! This tour will also take you through the streets of St. John's where you will learn about the history of the island and its people; your mind can't help but create vivid images as we visit the various historic and cultural sites in the city of St. John's. This tour is a "MUST DO!" for visitors who want to learn about the history and culture of Antigua and Antiguans from its discovery to modern day.
This tour can be customized for a couple or to suit the needs/interests of your group and is inclusive of lunch.
We will begin our tour from the pickup point with a walk up Nevis or Redcliffe street (depends on where the ship is docked) down market street to the bust of Antigua's first National Hero Sir Vere C. Bird Sr. We will then visit the public and fish markets. On our tour of the city we will visit several sites to include the King Cort Tackey (Prince Klass) monument, the Cenotaph, Antigua Recreation Grounds, Government House, St. John's Anglican Cathedral (Big Church) and visit the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda. Lunchtime is determined by you, after which we will visit the Duty-Free Shopping Centers. The tour will conclude with a drop off to the port or pick up a meeting point.
