Eat and Drink your way around the most pittoresque areas of Amsterdam with a local foodie.
Amsterdam Private Food Tours
This foodie walking tour takes you to the places where local foodies shop, eat and drink. And as we stroll through the most pittoresque areas in the heart of Amsterdam you will see the classic views of our city as well as heading off the (b)eaten track. We start by visiting some top producers of delicious classic Dutch delicatessen. Family businesses where tradition and passion have been handed down through generations.
Then, it's time for some drinks. I'll take you to a few of my favourite local bars where you can sample Dutch beer, Belgian beer, Dutch gin and lots of atmosphere. You'll eat and drink like a local and get to know all about the 'borrel'(aperitif) culture. Along with your drinks you'll enjoy tasty traditional snacks that the Dutch always order along with their 'borrel'.
If you don't fancy beer of course you can have wine or soft drinks instead.
As always with my tours there's a lot to eat and a lot to learn so bring your appetite for both.
We meet in one of the main squares in the old city centre and start by visiting speciality food stores, crossing canals and tasting along the way. We spend about 1. 5hrs to 2 hours in this area.
Then it's stroll of about 20 to 30 minutes along the river where you will see some famous landmarks in our city.
We visit 3 bars in the next section, walk through the University and finish in our last bar in the centre of the city. This part of the tour takes about 2 hours.
