Taste your way around the most pittoresque areas of the city with a confirmed foodie. A real insiders tour!
Amsterdam Food Tours:
This walking food tour not only includes lots of yummy tastings, but you will also meet the people who make our delicious food. Strolling through the most pittoresque areas in the heart of Amsterdam you see the classic views of our city as well as heading off the (b)eaten track.
Amsterdam has some fantastic food. Restaurants, bars, cafés, speciality food stores, markets - we've got the lot. The thing is, it's not always that obvious. You just need to know where to look and what to look for.
I'll take you to the places where the local foodies shop and eat. From artisan, hand made cheese that is only found in speciality stores, local traditional favourites, new trends to chocolate and patisserie, you will not go hungry. There's lots to eat so bring your appetite.
This tour is available on weekdays, for Saturdays please see my food tour number #75152.
We meet in one of the main squares in the old city centre and start by visiting speciality food stores, tasting along the way. We spend about 1. 5hrs in this area.
A short walk of about 5 minutes takes us to a fabulous deli. Here, we sit down to some great, fresh food.
Then a 3 minute walk brings us to the biggest and best known market in the city where we spend about 1 hour and of course have a couple of snacks here too.
We finish at the market where you can stay and browse or you can walk back to the starting point with me where you can pick up a tram or taxi. The stroll back takes about 15 minutes. Of course I will help you get to your next destination.
There is a lot to eat on this tour, so make sure you come hungry!

25 Euro - All tastings are included in the tour price, however, many of my clients like to buy things along the way, either for themselves or as gifts for friends and family. So, it's really up to you if you wish to make extra purchases. You may also need some local currency to pay for transport to and from our meeting point. Note that most shops take credit cards (although few accept AMEX), the market is mostly cash.
You may wish to have a glass of wine with your lunch. This will cost from 5 Euro per glass. Or a bottle from 17 Euro. Prices may vary. Note this is optional.
You may also need some local currency to pay for transport to and from our meeting point.
As well as the above extra's which you can decide and pay for on the day, I have found that my clients like to make some tasty additions to this tour and the most popular ways they have customized is to add:
-A Glass of wine with your Dutch Cheese tasting.
-Some European Cheeses to the tasting as well as Dutch.
-Visit to a butcher who employs michelin star chefs to create melt in the mouth delicacies for us to taste. (Not available Mondays)

- I don't have my own transport and so only do walking tours in the centre of Amsterdam.
- I don't offer tours that include museum visits.

Karen is a savy foodie who is knowledgeable about the local food scene. Food tastings were at local shops. The choices were representative of Amsterdam and the food was delicious. I felt like I spent the day eating great food with a good friend. I highly recommend Tours by Locals and Karen.
