Taste Your Way Around The Best Food in Town and Get an Insiders Guide to Great Shopping in Amsterdam
Amsterdam Food And Shopping Tour:
If you love to eat and love to shop this tour has the perfect combination of both.
As we stroll through the most picturesque areas of Amsterdam taking in all those classic views we enjoy some of its most delicious food. The tastings reflect Dutch trends and traditions and are sweet and savoury. We intersperse our tastings with a look at lots of boutiques. Some high end, some modern, some classic, some quirky or just plain eccentric.
I'll take you to the places where the Amsterdammers shop and eat.
The places we eat are small, family run delicatessens, tearoom style businesses and street food. I'll tell you about daily life in the city, Amsterdam's food culture and history, and let you in on lots of foodie insider tips.
There's lots to eat on this tour, so bring your appetite.
Some time is allocated for you to shop, but the idea is that the tour will give you an insiders peak at what is available so that you can return after the tour if you wish.
We meet in one of the main squares in the old city centre and start by visit speciality food stores, tasting along the way. We check out boutiques and music. We spend about 1. 5hrs in this area.
A short walk of about 5 minutes takes us to a fabulous deli. Here, we sit down to some great, fresh food.
Then a 3 minute walk brings us to the biggest and best known market in the city where we spend about 1 hour and of course have a couple of snacks here too. This market could be described as a flea market with some eclectic products and street food. We'll check out some antiques and the latest boutiques in the back streets.
From the market we stroll through Amsterdam for about 30 minutes. The next area we visit is all about art, antiques and design. We spend about 20 to 30 minutes in this area.
We are now back in the canal area and walk about 10 minutes to one of the most beautiful boutique shopping areas. We finish the tour here.
