From Hilo we head to the Puna district, the "Last Hawaiian Frontier", Lava tree state park, down in Kalapana (where the road ends, due to the most recent lava flow, and the Aloha begins) where you can walk on a recent lava flow down to a black sand beach, drive along the beautiful coast stopping at McKenzie Park, lava tubes, & more, a secret spot, then to Pohoiki bay and/or the "warm ponds" for swimming or laying in the thermally heated water then on down, time allowing stop at Maunaloa Macadamia nut farm on the way back to Hilo or we do the major sites at Volcano National Park. A Recent Review of this tour
Read More Reviews For This TourLawrence was an excellent tour guide. He is well-versed in Hawaiian culture and the Puna/Hilo area. He took us to a number of amazing places and we learned a great deal from him. The lava tubes and volcano are "must sees." He made my husband and I feel very comfortable and he answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this tour.
