a walk through the oldest villages of the Amalfi coast
This tour is perfect to understand the history of the coast, visit three of its most fascinating villages and enjoy some of the most astonishing views.
We start from Ravello, with its sumptuous villas: Villa Cimbrone, its marvelous gardens and the "Infinity terrace" facing the sea from the height of 400 meters;
Villa Rufolo, the place where Wagner composed its Parsifal;
the Cathedral with its mosaic of "Giona and the whale".
If we're lucky we'll see a weeding in the cathedral!
You have time for shopping: ceramics and sandals are produced here, and to enjoy a light lunch on a terrace facing the coast.
A nice descending walk into the Dragon valley will leads us to Atrani, a tiny village looking like a nativity scene. You can be lost in the tiny alleys around the main square!
Around the corner we find Amalfi, once a powerful independent republic in the Mediterranean area, its majestic moorish cathedral, the main square with many cafes, where you can taste the Lemon delight and enjoy the special atmosphere!
We meet in Amalfi and we take a bus to Ravello where, we can visit the Cathedral with a beautiful mosaic of "Jona and the whale", the Villa Cimbrone with the "english style" gardens and the astonishing "Infinity terrace" overlooking the sea, the Villa Rufolo where Wagner composed its Parsifal.
You have time for shopping, to visit the ceramic shops and enjoy the atmosphere for a while, then we have a light lunch in a nice spot, another terrace with a great view of the coast!
After lunch we start our walk in the Dragon valley: in 1 hour following an old connection path (we have some steps and some bits of the main road)
we reach Atrani, a tiny village caught between the sea and the mountains.
It looks like a nativity scene with all its white houses one on the top of the other.
We then continue walking for 15 minuets more to arrive in Amalfi where you have time to visit the Cathedral by your own, or enjoy the lemon delight, a speciality of the best patisserie of the coast

We were a family group of 11 in Amalfi for a family reunion and birthday. Rosa fit in as one of the family. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and flexible. She worked hard to make this and our other two trips with her work for everyone. On this hike, we drove to Ravello and toured the town, then drove to Pontone for lunch and a hike down to Amalfi. the views were spectacular. Rosa is an outstanding guide who goes well beyond what is required to make sure the trip works for everyone.
