The Moorish Crown Jewel: The Alhambra with a Private Guide
The Alhambra is certainly Spain's most important monument. When one has in mind the Alhambra, you will certainly think about the palaces, and the famous Lion's court, the Lion's fountain, the reflection pool of Patio de Los Arrayanes, but this is definitely not all!
The Alhambra is a citadel, a former Palace town, with different districts and later added Christian buildings, as the Palace of Charles V, the Emperor of the Habsburg dynasty.
In addition, there is the Generalife complex, composed by the astonishing beautiful gardens, a palace and other areas. In order to visit all of it, this takes a good 3 hours time.
As often the admissions including palaces are sold out and it is each time more difficult to obtain them, you also may value the tour without the palace area, which still is a very complete overview.
Timing and itinerary has to be adapted to the docking times of your ship, with a maximum of 8 hours
From Malaga, there is a modern motorway to Granada, in a couple of hours we'll reach the Alhambra. Depending on the time window of the admission to the Nasrid palaces (times are restricted) we will start the visit at the Alhambra or Generalife. In total we need approximately 3 hours for the visit.
After the visit, there might be a short time for a snack, in the surrounding of the Alhambra, before we return to the port of Malaga.
If you are staying in Malaga or Costa del Sol, we are more flexible with timing.
Please make sure to contact me in advance in order to check availability of admissions!

Maike was top shelf! An excellent guide and wonderful companion! She was highly informative and filled the time to and from Granada with interesting and entertaining commentary. The tour of the Alhambra was fascinating. Being six seniors, we also appreciated that Maike conducted the tour with efficiency but at a pace that was pleasant and comfortable for us. She used excellent audio aids throughout the tour that made it easy to hear clearly. A real plus! And our lunch together was amazing. Thanks, Maike!
