A Visit to the Oldest Microbrewery in Iceland
There are many microbreweries in Iceland. I would like to present to you the oldest, Kaldi. We drive approximately 35 minutes north from the town of Akureyri. The Artic Circle is only 150 kilometers north of our destination.
This brewery is located in a tiny village, giving work to most of the inhabitants, where you can taste the cold beer, But that is not the only reason for your visit. Indeed, you will also be given the possibility to bathe in beer, providing your skin with exceptional nourishment. You are not supposed to shower for several hours afterwards, in order to allow the effect of the beer to be as intense as possible.
We will drive back to town, with one extra stop in Hjalteyri, an old herring town where you can basically feel the history of the Icelandic fishing-industry. There you may also enjoy a scenic view over the longest fjord of Iceland, Eyjafjördur. The tour takes approximately five and a half hours.
