Explore Banks Peninsula and Akaroa with a local private guide!
This is a 1-day private tour from Christchurch City to Akaroa and then back to Christchurch. You have plenty of time to explore the stunning Banks Peninsula, as well as the first and only French settlement in New Zealand. I highly recommend the optional activity, Swimming with Dolphins which you have a chance to encounter the hector's dolphins, the smallest and rarest found only in inshore waters of New Zealand.
We leave Christchurch City and head to Akaroa via Lyttelton in the morning. On the way we stop in Little River for its cafe and art gallery. Shortly, we arrive at the Hilltop, a lockout which you can take a remarkable panoramic photo of Banks Peninsula and Akaroa. We go to Akaroa via the scenic route where you can see the stunning view of the peninsula. The Akaora Village is New Zealand's first and only French settlement. It gives you a unique French experience on the other side of the world. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to chose from and you can relax on the waterfront. There are optional activities you can go to such as Swimming with Dolphins and the Shamarra Alpaca Farm. We leave Akaroa and arrive Christchurch at 5pm.
