The 3 "provencal" cities from Marseille
The 3 main historic cities of Provence in one day !
A long journey indeed, but one you won't forget. . .
We'll take the highway from one place to the other and you ill enjoy some free time in each place, to enjoy the way you want it.
Aix-en-Provence, once capital of the County of Provence, is today a dynamic and modern student city. The charm of Aix is legend, you will enjoy the local market, and the testimonies of thousand of years of history.
Avignon, once city of the popes, where two of them built the largest medieval counstruction in the world. Inside the 2, 68 miles medieval remparts you will discover that every street host historic monuments, that every single corner hides a surprise.
Arles is probably the most "provencal" one. Enjoy a journey through history with the roman arena and theater ; the medieval cathedral ; the mansions of the Renaissance and the palaces of the XVII and XVIIIth century. The art buff will love to follow the footsteps of Van Gogh who spent 2 years in the area.
Considering the distance between each city I will not havbe the time to do walking tours, so you will have free time in the 3 cities. I will of course give you all the informations and provide the guiding between during the drive. If you wish a guided tour of the cities we will have to limit the tour to 2 of them.
