One day programme in the ancient Aghmat Village with private guide
Aghmat is an an ancient abandoned village , about one hour drive south of Marrakech . It was the first capital of the Almoravids that gradually declined in importance after building Marrakech in the 11th century . The berber people here are reputed to be very simple , hospitable and the wives are excellent cooks. The berber food has kept its integrity despite the outside influences . You will be picked up from your hotel and drive to Aghmat village . Have your cooking -class in a cooperative run by 8 ladies who will teach you how you can cook one of the local dishes . In the afternoon you can visit the "El Moatamid Ben Abad "( an Andalousian poet )mausoleum that closes on Monday and Tuesday or drive to the ourika valley .
