Hi everybody - thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you.
Having spend my early years close to nature in the Eastern Cape I decided to commit myself to sharing my wildlife experiences and knowledge with tourist visiting our country.
After 12 years of guiding my enthusiasm has not wavered. I initially spend 6 years as a national park guide based in Addo Elephant Park. For the past seven years I have operated as a freelance guide, mainly in the Addo Park and adjointing private reserve.
During all this time, I grew with the elephant park as it expanded and lived through days of watchin and wainting to see how the new development would influence the animals' behaviour.
In the park the animals are able to go about their daily lives, undisturbed. In great anticipation this is where the adventure starts for us, so often, we are surprised by unexpected sightings. regular close encounters with some of the animals offer amazing photo opportunities. Through experience I am able to identify certain individual elephants- very often after a game drive guest have been able to say that they were priveleged to meet "Anneke" or one of the other well known elephants.
I work in an environment where learning is on going. One constantly sees and tries to interpret new or differnet animal behaviour. One can never say you have seen or know it all!
For this reason I humbly learn from people that have specialized in certain subjects/fields and together we learn about the fascinating aspects of nature and its creatures.
Although I have specialized as a nature guide, I also do tours down the Garden Route. Given my knowledge of South Africa inb general and the Eastern and Western Cape specifically, I am able to guide my guest to see and do much that they will enjoy. Guest interest is of utmost importance and with each game drive and tour I do, I strive to meet my guest' expectations.
Can't wait to share my experiences with you! See you soon!
