Remember Bob Dylan, Flower Power and the very first television you bought?
Time passes and you'll find it all at the museum "The Old Town" an open-air museum in the heart of Aarhus. Den Gamle By" translates to "The old town" and is a collection of old houses from all over Denmark.
I will accompany you at a walk down Memory Lane - we meet the Danes in three different apartments, pay a visit to radio and TV shop and relax at the pastry shop where hot chocolate with Danish and other delicious cakes will be served.
Plenty of time to explore the museum on your own - go ahead and look inside 75 typical buildings from all over Denmark, walk in the historical gardens or buy Danish specialities at the merchants.
We will walk through the old streets and enter some of the authentic homes and shops. I will introduce you to our local food served in a tearoom or restaurant. Children may want to go the playground or say hello to the old lady who looked after the famous fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen when he was growing up.
The houses date back more than 200 years and all kinds of handicraft is shown. Please tell me if you would like to visit the jewelry, the carpenter, the bakery or the shoemaker and I will customize your visit.
