Orangutan is one of the most endangered species in the world, found only in Sumatra and Kalimantan, Bukit Lawang ('gateway to the mountain') is situated just 96kms northwest of Medan, making it one of the easiest, most accessible places to start your jungle adventure.
One of the most biodiverse regions in the world, the surrounding jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park houses 130 mammal species including 8 primate species, 285 species of birds and 89 endangered and protected species including the very rarely seen Sumatran tiger, rhino and elephant.
Pick up from Airport or hotel in Medan, on the way to Bukit Lawang, visit Annai Velangkani Katholik Church with India architecture. After arraive in Bukit Lawang, check in Hotel. And visit bat cave
before start trekking the next day we make small briefing for the trekking
Start after breakfast around 7-8 am, set offfor a two-day trek in Mount Leuser National park. walking around 6-7 hours or more through the jungle. Searching the wildlife and discovering medicinal plants and "jungle-food" learning about their use. and stay overnight in the jungle.
