Visit Uxuxubi (Maya for: the song of the bird's) a real Mayan Village, 10 miles deep in the jungle. Learn how the Mayans are living in the jungle, the same way their ancestors lived there for hundred's of years.
Have a walk through the Village to the big Lagoon, where crocodiles are living, climb up a 30 foot high wooden tower to see how the Mayan village is spreading wide over the jungle.
Have a real adventure at Rancho Santa Cruz where you'll have a short jungle walk of 15 minutes, with some explanations about the flora of the jungle, to the cave entrance. Wearing your bathing suit you'll descend 10 feet into the Underworld of the Mayan Gods, a cave system. With a hard hat on your head and a waterproof flashlight in your hand you begin an underground trek.
Go snorkeling in the lagoon of Yalkoo, a former natural Mayan harbor. The lagoon is a caved in cave system, full of fish. You snorkel through canyons while observing different type of fish, like sergeant mayor, parrot fish, neon fish, angel fish, etc. |
